Angelina Hernandez, LPC (she/they)
Does this sound like you?
You’re tired of feeling stuck, small, scared, helpless, and/ or broken. You oscillate between feeling like you’re not good enough and feeling like you’re too much. You’ve spent years spiraling into the same thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns. You struggle with trusting yourself and others. You aren’t sure how to separate anxiety from intuition. You’ve been hurt or abandoned before, and letting go of what feels familiar is terrifying even though you know, on some level, that it’s not serving you anymore. You (secretly) dream of living a bigger, more expansive life. You aren’t completely sure if that’s possible, but some part of you hasn’t given up hope. Isn’t that why you’re here, now? I know what it’s like to feel hurt and helpless. I know what it’s like to feel both the fear of change and the fear of staying the same. I want you to know: you make sense. You are whole, and you are worthy of the life you dream of. Can you dare to take a leap into the unknown? Notice where you are. You’ve already taken the first step.
Therapy can help & so can I!
I’ll meet you where you are. Together, we’ll explore your inner landscape at a pace that feels safe for you. You’ll learn tools for nervous system regulation, self- care, communication, and healthy relating. You’ll learn how to cultivate greater awareness and self- compassion. You’ll gain insight into your patterns, as well as the underlying beliefs that drive them. You’ll create more space and understanding within yourself, which will allow you to make new choices. You’ll come home to yourself.
My approach to therapy is non- judgmental, connective, and relational. I am passionate about the power of heart- centered care and believe that, as social creatures, we are meant to help, hold, and support one another. I believe that we each have a limitless capacity for healing and growth, which can be facilitated by safe, nurturing relationships.
As a mindfulness- based therapist, I incorporate Gestalt, parts work (IFS), attachment theory, somatic and trauma- informed experiences, as well as sociocultural exploration into my work with clients. My clients have described me as, “gentle and loving, yet direct and honest.” Based on my own life experiences, I have a deep sense of empathy for individuals who have complex identities, as well as those who have experienced trauma, loss, and grief. I am committed to decolonizing therapy by exploring oppression that has been culturally conditioned, resolving and healing personal and intergenerational trauma, and cultivating and strengthening individuals’ sense of sovereignty and resilience.
